Shiny yellow, golden in color. Nice floral notes with ripe peach, fine vanilla, and elegant toasted oak are laced with lovely yeast notes. The mouthfeel is rich and fullbodied with nice apricot and some hints of honey. But the wine is beautifully balanced by classic acidity and lovely oak tannins that all add to the overall concentration and structure of this big yet elegant wine. The finish is beautiful with lovely minerality and a velvety, long, savory finish. This is a fantastic Chardonnay with great longevity for decades to come, and it is the ultimate food companion.

While most of the fruit for the 2022 Chardonnay Perle comes from five acres of Wölffer's estate vineyard in The Hamptons planted to Clone 76, there's a bit of North Fork fruit in the mix as well. All barrel fermented, with about 18% new French oak, it offers up notes of woodsmoke, dried spices and delicate fruit notes of white peaches and melon on the nose, while the palate is medium-bodied, silky textured and generous before finishing crisp and citrusy, with overtones of toasted grain.
