From 50+-year-old vines harvested at the latest around mid-October, the 2018 Riesling Ried Pfaffenberg 1ÖTW opens clear, bright and fresh on the nose and exhibits aromatic, coolish and precise Riesling fruit intermingled with notes of wet rocks. Pure, fresh and grippy on the palate, with white stone fruit aromas, this is a tight, straight and coolish Pfaffenberg that is still young but promising. This was bottled in late June 2019.

Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg in September 2019. Tasted again a week later at the domain and from a bottle that was opened two days before, the Pfaffenberg showed a clear, intense, concentrated and spicy stone-fruit aroma on the nose. The palate was lush and round, ripe and generous, a mouthful of Riesling in the richer Smaragd style.
