The attractive nose of snow peas, orange blossoms and flint pulls you into this elegant, medium-bodied dry pinot blanc. I love the smoky minerality that interlocks so neatly with the citrusy acidity at the long and lively finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

From vines with an average age of 20 and aged in stainless steel and large oak casks, the 2022 Straden Weissburgunder opens with an intense, elegant and spicy bouquet of ripe fruits (apricots) intermingled with slightly reductive or even iodine nuances. On the palate, this is a mouth-filling, dense, intense and seriously structured Pinot Blanc with refreshing and juicy fruit, good mineral grip and a long, saline and wonderfully vital finish. This is a superb Straden white wine that is not at first a Pinot Blanc but a convincing terroir wine with excellent aging capacity. Bottled in late April with 12.5% stated alcohol and a screw-cap closure. Tasted in May 2023.
