The 2021 D2 shows the promise of the vintage, with deep concentration and outstanding quality. Initial aromas of blackberry, cassis and green peppercorn lead to a palate bursting with beautiful richness and texture. The high-quality, fine-grained tannins of this wine allow approachability in its youth, yet have the firmness and backbone to provide aging for 15+ years. A dynamic red, showing a keen structure, with expressive flavors of red currant and blackberry highlighted by clove and cigar box notes as this gathers tension toward refined tannins. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2032.

A right-bank inspired blend of 58% merlot, 34% cabernet sauvignon, 4% cabernet franc and 4% petit verdot, this is expressive on the nose, showing oregano, orange peel, sliced chilis, cocoa beans, black fruit and violets. It’s medium-bodied, polished and creamy, with beautifully integrated tannins. Drink or hold.
