A little steely and mineral with sour cherries and almost a raw meat character to the fruit. Some wild herbs and garrigues, too. Palate is ripe and almost a bit plush, with a fleshy core of dark fruits and a generous, fruit-expressive finish. Tannins are firm and small-grained. Better from 2025.
The 2020 Mazeyres opens in the glass with aromas of minty berries, plums, petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it's lively and sapid, with velvety tannins and a charming, perfumed profile. Incorporating a large percentage of Cabernet Franc and defined by sandy soils, this Pomerol estate is farmed organically and biodynamically.
