This, the third release of Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, is an exemplary expression of our western Rutherford benchland terroir. It’s big and inky with a dark, alluringly saturated, amethyst-purple color. Perfumed aromas of red bramble berry, wild violet, and rose petal sit alongside fruit-forward flavors of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, and plum. The pleasing texture provides youthful tannins with a firm grip, a signature of the Rutherford dust, finishing dry with hints of espresso, tar, and graphite. A nice, long line of acidity supports the dark fruit core, providing suppleness and richness. Woodsier, perfumed notes of vanilla, caramel, and toast show nuances of the well-integrated oak. Marvelous balance, generosity, and power lead to a lengthy and persistent finish. A truly stunning wine that demonstrates the world-renowned quality of Cabernet Sauvignon from our heralded Rutherford AVA vineyards.

BV's 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Reserve reveals notes of ripe cherry, cassis and dusty earth on the nose, framed by cedar and vanilla. It's medium to full-bodied, ripe and reasonably silky in feel, then more open-knit and even slightly coarse on the finish.
